In my role as founder and managing director of Sympra, I am a chief strategist for communications consulting and crisis PR, in addition to the management of complex issues. Since 2006, I have been the co-founder and a member of the board of the global Public Relations Network (PRN), taking over the position of chairman of the board in 2014.
My campus days were spent at the University of Hohenheim, as well as at Danube University Krems, where I later pursued my MBA in economics. My gateway into the world of PR began at the Alcatel SEL press office, a computer newspaper, where journalism was the focal point. I attained further aspects into the PR world scope during my time spent at the Instituto Tecnologico in Monterrey, Mexico. Before founding Sympra, I gained a wealth of expertise in the agency business as an employee in the PR department of an advertising agency.
In addition to the day-to-day duties of my agency, I believe in the importance of being involved in professional associations and promoting intensive networking as this is where we create and obtain valuable ideas. For example, I am chairman of the board of the Baden Württemberg regional group of the DPRG (Deutsche Public Relations Association) and I represent the GPRA (Association of Leading Communications Agencies with PR backgrounds) in the German Council for Public Relations. To foster my ties to the academic world and the next generation, I serve on the advisory board of the Business Information Systems program at Heilbronn University. I am a lecturer for the University of Hohenheim in their Communication Studies program, as well as an associate professor at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education. Of particular note and something I do with passion is to avidly work on the Advisory Board of the Förderkreis Krebskranke Kinder e. V. Stuttgart (Childhood Cancer Foundation of Stuttgart) and as a Member of the Board of the Adolf Hölzel Stiftung.
