In cooperation with anspruch. agentur für neue Medien and the partners MFG Baden-Württemberg and the German Public Relations Association DPRG (Deutschen Public Relations Gesellschaft e.V.), Sympra invited interested parties to the event DemokratieZweiNull on Wednesday 25th March 2009. How can candidates profit from the dialogue on the social web? How do multipliers work? Why is the traditional media still important and how does the media interplay with the digital channels? These questions took centre stage at our event. Prof. Dr. Frank Brettschneider from the University of Hohenheim analysed Obama’s election campaign strategy and in particular shed light on the question of whether parts of it can be transferred to Germany. Following the theoretical section there were live demonstrations and tips on the basis of the examples from experts in the areas of public relations, social media and podcasting/video casting: They demonstrated how the internet can be used for political communication.
