Scientists from the University of Bristol have developed a soap that responds to a magnetic field when placed in solution. The soap’s magnetic properties were proved, with neutrons at the Institut Laue-Langevin. The generation of this property in a fully functional soap could calm concerns over the use of soaps in oil-spill clean ups and revolutionise industrial cleaning products.

Following a one-year conceptual phase the Wirtschaftsförderung der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart (business development centre for the town and region of Stuttgart) and the MFG Baden-Württemberg GmbH have created a unique and sustainable format for the region in the form of the Creative Space Stuttgart event (Kreativraum Stuttgart). For the first time from 4th – 10th May, the complete spectrum of creative events held in Stuttgart will be concentrated and further enhanced.

The theme of this 5th Tomato Conference - Taste Creating Quality of Life - reflected the growing demand from consumers for better-tasting tomatoes. Over 350 participants heard presentations on the science of flavour and taste, health-promoting properties of tomatoes and consumer trends. Organized by Syngenta Seeds, the conference aimed to inform growers, shippers, packers and retailers of trends in the tomato trade and challenges in the tomato retail supply chain.

The Space Needle was built in 1962 – and ever since the landmark of the US American city Seattle has not had a professional cleaning. At the end of the 90’s it was repainted, but grime and dirt have settled in since then. The badly needed cleaning will be accomplished by the German traditional company Kärcher in Winnenden near Stuttgart – free of charge.

Fiber is the future of broadband – and will provide regional carriers with many new business opportunities. This is the main conclusion of Alcatel-Lucent's FTTx Day in the company's German headquarters located in Stuttgart which attracted about 100 customers, business partners and journalists. Sympra supported Alcatel-Lucent’s media relations and documentation at the venue and will be contributing articles for publication in customer newsletters and on websites.

Five further agencies have joined the international agency organisation Public Relations Network (PRN): Aleph Comunicación in Madrid, Spain, Viisikko-Communica Communication in Helsinki, Finland, RADIX pu.re in Vienna, Austria, Alterpraxis in Mexico City and Dennis Rutzou Public Relations in Sydney, Australia. PRN is now represented in 19 countries across Europe, Asia, Americas and Australia.
